All Star weekend a great time for some zzzzzs

Ok, not for you fans that watch the game, it's actually been halfway decent the last couple of years. Likewise, the dunk contest has been more than enjoyable. As for the other three-ring circuses, well......that's another post :)

What I am speaking about is that the all star weekend is a prime time for the NBA to get some rest; I mean, let's face it, we all look forward to the week days that begin with the letter "S", and kids and teachers alike can't wait until Summer vacation. The bottom line is that this is mostly due to us just being burned out--needing rest--and while the NBA does have a usual break from June until around September like school years, the 82 games a year are indeed grueling--and without really much of a break at all. So, for three days, the players of the NBA can rely upon the fact that if they aren't selected for the All-Star game--they will get three days of well-deserved rest.

I am sure I will get flamed about this, the "oh but they are multi millionaires, they should be playing forever and a day for what they earn...blah blah blah", but they are still people--and while they do make ungodly salaries, they also put their bodies through ungodly physical demand. Give them a break, folks--literally.
