This time it's Allen Iverson. Wait, isn't or wasn't he involved in another suit? Geesh, would love to be the Answer's legal team, I'd be racking up the dough and billable hours. So, what's the deal this time?
The lawsuit filed in Douglas County District Court says the Denver Nuggets star didn't come to a weekend of booked appearances in Omaha in early August, leaving fans at a youth rally and two clubs without their main attraction. Now, the promoter who tried to bring AI to Omaha wants about $44,000 in damages.
An undated release from CrossOver Promotions, Inc., cited "unforeseen circumstances" caused by a family emergency as the reason Iverson wasn't able to appear. The release was delivered to The Associated Press by a Nuggets public relations official on Wednesday night.
Iverson wasn't available for comment. Big surprise there--must have another family emergency.
