Bird to fly Pacers coop?

bilde.jpg

Larry Bird made commentary that he needed to make changes with the Indiana Pacers. Co-owner Herb Simon said the same thing...but now Bird may be involved in those "changes". When discussing Simon's comments, Bird said he can't be for sure if he will be involved with the team next year.

This would also include Donnie Walsh, the CEO of the team. Simon is looking to restructure the team, and I can't really say that either Walsh or Bird deserves to be there any longer. Yes, Bird is an icon, but in terms of managing a team, he really has not proven he has the mettle to do what is needed to win a championship, much less keep his players out of jail and out of brawls on the court.

Walsh may be the most imminent to leave--there is reports that he may be in line to suck-ceed Isiah Thomas for the New York Knicks, but that's like going from a Yugo to a 1973 Ford Fiesta. It really doesn't do much for anyone....but I guess it IS without Isiah anymore, so that's a plus. Will Bird stay? I have a feeling he'll talk his way into it being that he's the hometown boy that everyone still looks up to, but he better win---soon.
