Bulls' Deng makes debut for Great Britain

Luol Deng, the enigmatic forward for the Chicago Bulls, made his international debut for Great Britain, although his team lost by two in the final seconds. He posted 19 points to lead the team, and while he looked a bit rusty, he was able to give the crowd some oohs and ahhs by doing typical Deng: cutting to the basket, almost throwing down a dunk.

Deng only recently "adopted" Great Britain, and his coach noted that he will have become assimilated to the spacing of the game and its differentiation from the American game. After the game, it was clear that Deng was frustrated and taken aback by the amount of "skrums" in the game.

He ended up going 5-12 from the field, including 2 shots from the international three point line. This is a good move for Deng's career and experience toward's next season with the Bulls, but it's clear it will take a while for him to get used to the basketball culture and be successful.

Doesn't it seem like everybody is joining some international team these days? Geeesh. Whatever happened to "hometown cookin' "?
