The Boston Celtics had won 10 in a row, and Monday is St. Patrick's Day. Since they would be on the road for this game, the team wore different "gold trimmed" uniforms.
Deron Williams could care less.
In a game that he was looking significantly forward to, Williams scored 32 points and handed out 8 assists and not only beat the Celtics in Boston--they embarrassed them. Carlos Boozer had his 44th double double of the year, and the Utah Jazz' plan of driving relentlessly on the Celtics put them at the free throw line early and often, and they cruised to a 18 point victory at the Fleet Center.
Still, the game wasn't all bad news for Boston, as combined with Toronto's loss, the Celtics clinched home court advantage and the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Of course, at this point, that's like winning the NIT tournament--yeah you won, but ummm....there's lots of other teams in a much better conference.
