Boy, have the Raptors missed T.J. Ford.
After missing the last 22 games due to a hard hit from Al Horford which re-aggravated a "stinger" that has been an off and on issue with him since 2001. At that point, Ford was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the openings of the vertebra the spinal cord runs through. In 2004, he had another collision that caused the "stinger".
Since Ford was hurt, the Raptors have gone 12-10, not exactly terrible, but for the all-around game that Ford brings in terms of scoring and assists, the biggest fan to Ford being close to practicing again has to be Chris Bosh, who has had to shoulder a huge load in the interim.
The worst thing is that although Ford is close to being cleared for practice, doctors have not set a timetable for a return to playing full-time. If the Raptors want to position themselves for the playoffs, hopefully that stinger will subside.
