Hornets continue to buzz with ninth straight W

nuggetshornet.jpg

If you didn't think the New Orleans Hornets were going to be good this year, you obviously haven't followed basketball very closely. But if you were to say that the Hornets would be one of the top teams, if not the top team, come All-Star break, I'd say you were smoking crack.

Nonetheless, the latter has happened, and the Hornets continue to impress with their ninth straight win, a blowout against the Carmelo Anthony-less Denver Nuggets 117-93. Chris Paul left the game to the cheers of the crowd going "MVP--MVP", and they are not just prodding their hometown boy--this guy is simply amazing. By churning out 23 points and 17 assists, he is in a class of guards and players that not many can lay stake to--especially with the surrounding personnel like Tyson Chandler and David West having career years--and still putting up huge numbers.

While the Celtics have the overall best team win-loss record, you've got to give an edge to the Hornets, who arguably play in the league's toughest conference with the likes of Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. While there's still a lot of games to play, I would not be surprised to see this team in the finals. Yep, I said it. Whatcha gonna do about it?
