Jazz toe the line in big win over Pistons

It's not as if the Jazz have been playing bad ball, but still, with Deron Williams nursing a toe injury, many thought that perhaps they were a little under their potential--and they were right. Williams came back from the injury as he said he felt no pain when he faced the Pistons, and the ones with the grimaces on their face were the Detroit players.

Williams and Carlos Boozer combined for 57 points and Williams had 14 assists to beat Detroit at the Palace by 10. The team shot a sparking 52% from the field and Boozer had a scorching night, going 17 for 20. It didn't hurt that Williams had a leg up on others in the matchup versus Chauncey Billups, as he and Billups played on the national team this summer.

The Jazz have seemed to fight their way through all of the negative press surrounding Andrei Kirilenko and have really stepped up their game. In the wild and wooly Northwest division, their only real concern is Denver, and history has told us that the Nuggets seem to fade rather quickly come springtime, so as long as Utah continues to avoid injuries as much as humanly possible (Boozer unfortunately has a long history of this), and can keep the team chemistry together, they could be a dark horse for the finals (again).
