Yi Jianlian, with the assistance of a negotiating session from the owner of the Guangdong Tigers, has finally ended his holdout with the Milwaukee Bucks and will be ready to go on October 1st for the opening of training camp. Can you hear Milwaukee celebrating? Wait for it...hmm...me neither.
Jianlian has been lukewarm ever since his name was called at the podium during the June draft, citing that Milwaukee's lack of an Asian population was a drawback in being drafted there. At 6'11" and being agile like the other Asian sensation Yao Ming, he is certainly a rare commodity, but to come at the NBA with such a sourpuss, don't expect the Bucks to immediately take to him unless he really takes off like Ming did.
Details of the contract were not discussed as of yet, but you can bet that he got his due and then some--now it's time for him to make those dollar signs worth their weight in wins--although with the talent the Bucks have and also have squandered, it's anybody's guess how they will be in the immediate future.
