Jason Kapono, a long range shooter that played for the Miami Heat last year, has reached a deal with the Toronto Raptors. This is amazing news considering one of the biggest needs that the Raptors wanted to fill was an outside shooter, and Kapono is one of the best.
Hitting at a 51% clip last year, Kapono averaged nearly 2 3-pointers a game, and since the Raptors looked dismal from the arc in their playoff loss to the New Jersey Nets, this could be the tide that brings them even further. One thing is for sure--the Eastern Conference certainly made its mark in the NBA draft, and with teams like Cleveland, New York, and Detroit still looking good for next year, making a move like this for Toronto was a godsend.
ESPN reported that the deal was four years in length, worth an approximate 24 million dollars. If the Raptors have their way, he'll earn every cent of that.
