Kings let it reign

artestvnets.jpg

Like that play on words? Yeah, me too! Ok, enough about me...

The Kings were raining down threes like they were going out of style--and they were hitting them. 15 to be exact. And all the New Jersey Nets could do was watch the points pile up as they were routed by over 30 points in a 128-94 to Sacramento. What's the deal? Well, the deal is this--Sacramento played for the first time in almost two years with their version of the Big Three--Ron Artest, Kevin Martin, and Mike Bibby.

And the results were fantastic. The question remains if the resurgence has come too late. Sacramento (18-22) is in 11th place in the Western Conference and must decide in the next month whether to keep the team together for a possible playoff run or trade some of its stars before the Feb. 21 trading deadline.

Bibby and Artest, whose names have been thrown around in trade talks for what seems like forever, obviously showed their abilities in more than one way, and the Kings may want to re-think their position on keeping them on the trade block---if they can continue to play like this, who knows what we may see out of the fledgling franchise. Although you probably won't see much better shooting again from the team (they shot 57% for the night), one thing is for sure--keep an eye on them.

Stay tuned...
