Knicks may not be first in league, but first in Forbes

What happens when your team faces huge sexual harassment charges and you have a coach that no one can stand? To boot, what happens when the team itself is just plain--bad? Well, in the case of the New York Knicks, it means that you are--the top grossing team in the league??

How can that be? And how can a team like the Dallas Mavericks, who were in the top three last year, fall to sixth, despite a great team? All of these figures are according to Forbes.com, and the top five teams were the Knicks, LA Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, and Houston Rockets.

Some will say it's simply because of the market the Knicks may be in. True, but this is also a city that demands great things--they expect their baseball Yankees to win all the time, and the media is on top of the football Giants whenever they falter. But the team went up actually 3% in revenue, while the Lakers lost 2%. The margin between these two teams was almost 40 million dollars.

Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?
