Kobe drops 41 in Shaq's debut with Suns

Both players say that the feud is over. To see the game last evening, though, you would have thought that Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal were the worst of enemies. O'Neal was making his debut with the Suns, fresh off a trade that sent Shawn Marion to the Heat, and was playing his first game in almost a month. Coaches and players alike weren't quite sure what to expect, especially considering that the Suns push the ball constantly, not something that Shaq has ever been involved with--ever.

What they got was very interesting--first of all, Kobe dropped 41 in a breathtaking win for the Lakers in which both teams combined for more than 250 points. Bryant, playing with a dislocated pinkie, still was able to take the game over when the time called for it, and by winning the game, the Lakers took the season series from the Suns 3-1.

Shaq, on the other hand, played very well, citing that he thought he was in better shape than what he lead on to be, and coach Mike D'Antoni thought that he actually got "stronger" as the game went by. O'Neal finished with 15 points and 9 boards in 29 minutes; while you have to take into account that for all intents and purposes Shaq still has rather fresh legs and it may be a better barometer to look at his performance in a month, Suns fans have to be feeling pretty good about what may be.
