Magic can't conjure up win against Hornets

pauldriving.jpg

You could feel that it was going to happen. Late in the game, Peja Stojakovic, who is eight on the NBA all-time three point shooting list, was 1 of 10 from the field. Normally, the sharpshooter would have already hit a couple of threes, but late in the fourth quarter, he was oh-fer the arc and his 35 game streak of hitting a three was looking to be in jeopardy.

Never fear.

Stojakovic literally stole a victory from the home team Orlando Magic, scoring six points in the final minute, including a three and 3 free throws, to edge the Magic by 1. The Magic had a chance to win the game with six seconds left, but the Hornets swarmed (pun intended) Rashard Lewis, who was forced to dish to role player Keyon Dooling, who clanked a jumper at the buzzer.

The Hornets hung on to a tie in the Southwest division with the Spurs. The Magic have already sewn up their division and more than likely playoff position, so the loss didn't hurt them overall, but that has to smart to be in the game--at home--and not win against a good team. Is Orlando all that? Or is New Orleans just that much better?
