NBA 2007: Let's get it on!

So we're finally here.

After months of international competitions, trades, rumors, spats, scandals, lawsuits, you name it, we get down to what it's really all about--basketball. What's that?? You say you want a revolution? Well, look no further my friends, because this year should be a season of epic proportions. Not only are we already anticipating some breakout teams to rise to the occasion (Boston, Cleveland), we're also worried about some mainstays that could be less than what we're used to (Los Angeles, Miami). Players have switched teams like couples at a key party, and now we get our first look at what the NBA is capable of with tipoff tonight.

Hmmm? Who do I like? Well, I gotta say that I am surrounded with the hype of the Celtics. Kevin Garnett is hungry, and the city is a great basketball town that is really going to give them a huge home advantage. With the east kind of hanging in the balance, the time is now. In the West, I still like the Spurs, even though I'd love to say the Suns. The Spurs still have the main weapons, the coach, and the swagger to simply walk into the finals if they wanted to. It doesn't hurt that the conference is awesome anyways.

For players, I am going to go out on a huge limb and say that Kevin Durant won't win rookie of the year--I think there is too much pressure on him at this point--I'm going to go with Acie Law from the Hawks. He should really be able to lead this team and there will be plenty of smiles in Atlanta. For MVP, I gotta give it back to Steve Nash. I think he is still peaking and while he continued to run miles and miles for Phoenix, he has so much heart it's almost sickening!

And there you have it....
