NBA Playoffs: Washington Wizards (7) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (2)

If you were to look at the statistics for both teams and the players on paper, this looks like it would be a pretty good matchup. However...don't let the black and white stats fool you. The Wizards, although having touted designated shooter Gilbert Arenas, are a shell of the team they've been for most of the season. This is because a devastating injury to Caron Butler, who was having a career-best season, leaves the Wiz without much more than one dimension.

The Cavaliers, of course, are lead by Lebron "King" James. If you weren't aware of that, perhaps you should crawl out from the rock you've been living under for several years. As the Eastern Conference's number 2 seed, all of those years of toil pre-Lebron are starting to pay off. While some would argue that the Cavs too are too one-dimensional, others would argue back that Lebron is a little more than "one-dimensional" and can lead any team in the stretch to victory.

Without Butler, Washington has struggled immensely. Although he is looking to getting his cast off next week, don't think that suddenly he's going to swoop in there with his Superman cape and save the day. The Cavs are the league's best offensive rebounding team, and the Wizards just don't have anyone to defend either James or Drew Gooden. Perhaps Arenas can sprout some 50+ games, but the egos and confidence are gone from this team.

Prediction: I'll take Cleveland 4-2, and the two is a gift to the Wizards as I believe Arenas will have to be absolutely amazing those games to win those two games...
