No Reggie Comeback: Celtics looking at Abdul-Jabbar next

Ok, just kidding about the reference to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, even though he said that he would probably be able to suit up for a game if a team needs him (He's 60, mind you). Ending weeks of speculation, Reggie Miller won't be coming back to play in the NBA. The Celtics were courting him and would have used him in a backup role to Ray Allen.

While Miller had been trying to put his body through the rigors of two-a-days, he said that physically he would be ok, but he didn't want to deal with the mental exhaustion that accompanies life in the NBA. The career leader in NBA three-pointers, Miller had never won a championship through almost 2 decades with the Indiana Pacers.

Still, other teams remain active in trying to dig up old bones in terms of getting role players for their teams. Allan Houston still is in the mix, and as we all know, Penny Hardaway is getting himself ready for the season with the Heat. I think Miller made a good move--because it's one of those things where he may have been able to help, but he also may have damaged his "legacy" if he didn't do well with the comeback. Plus, he maintained some integrity by sticking to his word that he wouldn't come back just to win a ring. Kudos, Reggie....
