Greg Oden's father reported that his son will enter the NBA draft to the Indianapolis Star. While this is actually not all that surprising since he is widely regarded as the would-be #1 draft pick, not everyone was absolutely sure the 7-foot freshman center from Ohio St. was a lock to enter--not even him.
After Florida's national championship win over the Buckeyes which featured the first-ever repeat starting five, many questioned whether Oden may want to come back to help get a title before jetting for the pros. But Oden's parents have declared that he is going to draft, just not ready to talk about it yet.
Although Ohio St. lost the game, Thad Matta may lose more than that. Word is that Mike Conley Jr. and Daequan Cook, also freshman, are making themselves available for the draft. Conley will be a sure lock to get picked, while Cook may get picked up, but definitely not early. Not to worry (not that you were anyway): Matta has another stellar class coming in, ranking near the top of the country in next year's incoming recruits.
