Pistons Keeping Flip, Rest of Eastern Conference Ecstatic.

Flip doing some of his expert "coaching"

Today in Detroit, Joe Dumars had his annual end of the season press conference and announced, to no one's surprise, that Flip Saunders will be sticking around another season to lead the Pistons to possibly a third straight playoff collapse.

I'm sure this news gives the rest of the East a lot of excitement as the Pistons have underachieved the past two years under Flip. Say what you want about Larry Brown (and Piston fans have a lot in the past) but I don't think a Brown coached team would have put it in cruise control the past two playoffs and then get bounced when they were unable to flip the switch at the right time. I'm interested to see if Rasheed Wallace is sent out via trade because I don't see him and Flip lasting another season with each other.

After two straight losses in the Eastern Finals it's evident that the Pistons need to make some changes if they want to make it back to the NBA Finals, but that change is going to have to involve some player movement as they'll still have Flip at the helm for at least another year.
