Pistons score a 45 point Buck

pbucks.jpgOk, so that was a little corny for an opening line. But, hey, you're here, so...stay a while!

After the media darling Portland Trail Blazers had won 13 in a row and finally had the streak snapped by the Utah Jazz earlier today, the focus on the next hottest team has gone east...way east....to Detroit. The Pistons, now riding a nine game winning streak, embarrassed Milwaukee for the ninth win in a row, shellacking them 114-69. Yep, you read that right--a 45 point margin. Even the Timberwolves haven't looked that bad in a single game this year.

But you can't sit there and say that Milwaukee was just terrible--you have got to give credit to the old guard, the staunch execution of the Detroit Pistons. Isn't it funny how the less sparkly teams like Detroit and San Antonio rarely change players, rarely change philosophies of defense first and hard nosed tenacity, and they are the teams that have the bulk of success over the last, say, 5 years? And other offense-first, flamboyant teams like Dallas, Phoenix, and Los Angeles, always get to vacation a lot earlier....EVERY year?

I'd like to report some hyped up details about the Pistons-Bucks game, but there's not really a lot to tell other than----theyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed Wallace....same cast, better results. They could be better than ever, even better than the championship teams under Larry Brown. Don't pen in the Boston Celtics to the finals just quite yet....
