Pistons take Game 1 after Lebron passes up shot (literally)

Ok, many people criticized Michael Jordan for being someone who was a shoot-first player, and then several people have stated that Lebron James is the second coming of Jordan. So that sound you heard on Monday night was the consensual scratching of people's noggins when James passed up a last second shot and the Cavs lost by three.

What's up with that? Well, James did at least give it off to a player that could get the job done. He dished it to Donyell Marshall, who made six threes in the series victory over the Nets. But that was the Nets--and this was prime time. James was quoted as saying, "I go for the winning play...when two guys come at you and a teammate is open is to give it up."

Alrighty then--well that would make sense if James had terrific assist numbers. But let's face it, he doesn't shoot the ball hanging in the air with five guys on him like Kobe Bryant does, but he still forces shots and takes a lot of them--so this doesn't make a lot of sense. Did he just choke under the pressure? Tune in to game two to check it out. Detroit had a bit of a wake up call as well and should be thankful they didn't step on a rake to start the series off.
