Raptors can't overcome Kidd in first game loss to Nets

If you were anywhere near the Air Canada Centre for the first game of the Nets-Raptors series, you can sum up the game in one word that you heard all afternoon: BOO.

Vince Carter BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Jason Kidd BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Chris Bosh getting two fouls early BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Raptors missing their first seven threes BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

The end result--Boo.

On an afternoon where there were more people wearing Vince Carter bibs than Bosh jerseys, the Nets rode the back of a near triple-double by Jason Kidd and outlasted the Raptors, taking the home court advantage from Toronto early.

What happened? Well, according to coach Sam Mitchell, the Raptors had opportunities and didn't cash in on them; by letting themselves go down by 13 late in the third quarter and then getting hot, they didn't give themselves enough time to break down the experienced Carter, Kidd, and Richard Jefferson.

Perhaps the Toronto fans should worry more about cheering on their team vehemently than trying to torture Vince Carter--what does that say for your team if the main focus is trying to rattle "the other guy"? Come on, Raptors fans--this team is for real. Support 'em that way.
