Raptors hang on behind Calderon's 25 points

Let's face it, folks. Most people have written off the Raptors. I, for one, believe they have the firepower and sheer will to win this series. But even I, with my optimistic view, felt like Tuesday night's game was slip-sliding away by the minute, and was thankful that Toronto escaped with a 2-point victory against the Nets.

Riding the impressive outing of Jose Calderon (who rolled his ankle in the last minute pending some tests to see the injury severity), who scored 25 points and handed out 8 dimes, the Raptors were able to overcome 30 points from the much-hated Vince Carter and a near (again) triple double by Jason Kidd.

The Raptors, on the other hand, even though they had the great game from Calderon, were very balanced in their attack, with 5 players in double figures. In one of my other posts, I wrote about how a key to winning was the three-point shooting percentage; the statistic for this game: 42%, right around where they were in the other victory for the series.

One thing is for sure: Toronto has got to continue to show heart in order to defeat the Nets in the Meadowlands. We all know that Carter, Kidd, and Richard Jefferson are going to get theirs, but as long as the Raptors stay true to their style of game and continue to distribute the ball, I have a feeling we'll be seeing a game seven. Stay tuned, same time, same bat channel.....
