Riley to coach Heat for 3 more years

Pat Riley, NBA's version of Dick Clark (does this guy EVER age?), has decided to remain with the team as its coach for the final three years of his contract. This decision, coming on the heels of his discussions with his family, also means that Riley will remain as the team's president.

This is a shining light in the wake of all of the negative flurry that has abounded in the NBA. Riley is a picture of class, a true coach's coach, and his winning percentage is nothing short of gaudy. While he would have to have some pretty huge win numbers over the next three years, he could legitimately challenge Lenny Wilken's all-time winning record as Riley stands now with 1,195 wins and Wilken ended with 1,332 (that would mean an average of 45 wins per year, which is doable by any account).

Riley stated that his heart is still in the game, as he was prompted by Alonzo Mourning, who will be playing his final year, to come back and coach. Riley also has to be happy that the team, while it didn't get the coveted Mo Williams, has been at least active in the offseason to try and improve, which with Riley's guidance, could make a big difference come the regular season.
