Robinson's 45 not enough to stop Blazers

robinsonknicks.jpg

Recently, Kevin Martin scored a career-high 48 and his team lost. Now, Nate Robinson scorches the nets for 45 and his team loses. Are we seeing a trend here? Well, maybe two games is not enough of a sample to declare an epidemic, but it's something to think about as the depth of teams are starting to win out against the Allen Iversons of the world. But, I digress.....

Yes, Robinson's Knicks lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in overtime, but you have got to hand it to New York, who hasn't had even a smidgeon of heart during the regular season, to come out and battle like this. Of course, there was a little of a rivalry happening here; Robinson was playing against his college teammate, Brandon Roy, who lead Portland with 27.

But even Robinson knew that his feats didn't mean anything, because an L is an L. As he noted to the press, "45 pretty much washed away". And so the sentiment goes in Knickland. But again, as witnessed above, one player does not make much difference if your team can't win. But don't take anything from Robinson--it's not his fault his team looks as lethargic as lepers.
