Rumor: Atlanta Hawks looking to move Point Guard

After the Atlanta Hawks seemingly brilliant draft, they are faced with a quandry that not many teams can boast: too many point guards. After drafting Acie Law in the 2007 draft, not only do they have 4 point guards now, but they have some expensive ones at that.

Speedy Claxton is getting paid over 6 million a year. Tyronn Lue is getting paid over 3.5 million a year. Lastly, Anthony Johnson is getting paid 2.6 million a year. Many Hawks fans have been clamoring that Lue and Johnson are getting overpaid anyways, and moving them would not only create cap room, but the Hawks may be able to get some future draft picks and/or some quality role players in exchange for these players. Claxton may be getting the most, but he's the most worth it--he's still got great leadership skills and ability to dish the rock. Plus, while Law is good, he may not be fully ready yet to lead a team from the get-go. That being said, my opinion would be to have Lue and Johnson in different uniforms and give Law a chance to mature a bit and then take over the PG role.

More than likely, according to the Atlanta Constitution, the Hawks will be making this move prior to training camp starting.
