Rumor Mill: Make or Break for Suns

So many seasons of many, many wins. A two-time defending MVP. Numerous accolades and a team full of stars that bring fans out game after game. Number of titles: zero. That last number is obviously the most glaring for the Phoenix Suns, and the rumors around the NBA is that if they can't do it this year, we may see a fire sale.

Now, does that mean Steve Nash will be gone? No--probably not. He IS the franchise player, much less one of the faces of the NBA. Will the coach change? No--the system works, that is for sure. But--that doesn't mean that players like Shawn Marion, Leando Barbosa, Raja Bell, and Amare Stoudemire won't be available for changing teams. Marion is certainly a wonderful all-around player, but he could carry a huge price tag when contract time comes. And while Stoudemire is still "prime time", he is damaged goods as he almost missed all of last year and as "lower leg" injuries go, it's anybody's guess when there will be an issue again.

So, while GM Bryan Colangelo has been lauded for his efforts--he's been criticized for his lack of "big" credentials. Cleaning house could have a new meaning if the Suns don't set with a trophy this year.
