Spurs T.C.O.B. in opener

How's that song go? Takin' care of business...every day...Takin' care of business...every way...

Well, it's a good thing I can write it, because I certainly can't sing it. The ham-handed seque here is that I can't sing the song, and the Cavs were singing the blues in game 1. Behind the dynamic duo of Tony Parker and Tim Duncan, San Antonio stifled the rolling Cavaliers 85-76 in game 1 of the NBA finals.

The difference? None other than the difference maker himself, Lebron James. Shooting 4-16 from the field, James looked frustrated and out of sorts, much different than the confident star of the Pistons series. The Spurs obviously made this a centered game plan, as Robert Horry was quoted as, "We know Lebron is the head of the snake, and we need to cut that head off."

Duncan took advantage of the youthful Drew Gooden, dominating literally every time he had the ball. Parker equally exploited Larry Hughes, who is not known for his defense. Many people have attributed that the Spurs' rest period versus the Cavaliers intense series with the Pistons will make the ultimate difference in the series.

I don't know if that would have made the difference in the least. The Spurs are playing darn good ball right now, painfully executing plays to perfection--almost robotic. If the Cavs want to make it interesting, the snake has got to hiss back.
