After Mike Conley was basically promoted to the starting guard position for the Memphis Grizzlies, Damon Stoudamire basically threw a temper tantrum and demanded to be traded or bought out from his contract. After several thoughts that the Grizzlies tried to entertain, they finally were able to cut Stoudamire loose and the Spurs have signed him.
Although this move is a little perplexing, considering how strong the Spurs are at guard. With Stoudamire saying that he wanted out of Memphis because of being demoted, how is he going to be able to really break in with the likes of Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili calling the shots in San Antonio? Maybe he's taken a step back and realized that he isn't the player he used to be and is more of an insurance policy than anything.
At least he is able to play on a good team and have great seats to see a bunch of wins.
