Is Jamaal Tinsley the David Copperfield of the NBA? Not because of the Magic he does on the court--more like the things he gets away with off the court. After his third run-in within 1 year dealing with nightclubs, guns, and thugs, Tinsley not only has escaped serious injury, he's also escaped real persecution by the Pacers.
Tinsley has said that he put himself in a bad position and was "stupid", but how often does this guy get to cry wolf before something happens to him? It's not as if he's some big all-star that the Pacers have to have, yet their treating him so--to me, it's the fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, but this is actually fool me three times, so is Larry Bird just an idiot?
Of course he's not, but Tinsley must be either the best salesman in the world after going through these situations relatively unscathed or he's got some deal with the devil. There's just no other way to explain it. Once again, great message to send to fans and continue the downward spiral of "thug life" that the Pacers have taken on as a persona. At least they are consistent!
