Underdogs prevail in game 3

Well, maybe the label shouldn't be "underdogs"--for game 3 anyways.

Utah and Cleveland both made their series 2-1 by posting home victories. While Cleveland's was a little more dramatic as Lebron James scoffed at critics who claimed he couldn't hit the big shot, Utah's win over San Antonio, a 26-point drubbing of the Spurs, was much more interesting in the long-term ramification scheme of things.

For one, Cleveland winning at home shouldn't have really been a surprise, even if the nails were being bitten down to the last second. But the Jazz basically embarassing the Spurs by that large of a margin should send shock waves down the roster for both teams--this series could be by and by much more tighter now if the Jazz can build off the momentum and the Spurs become glazed by such a butt-kicking. Deron Williams pasting the Spurs defense for 31 and nailing 4 three pointers, while Carlos Boozer dropped 27 and grabbed 12 boards--should have San Antonio's attention for the rest of the series.

Meanwhile, back at the hall of justice...

Detroit basically should go ahead and write their ticket to the finals. Losing game 3 that closely should all but solidify those who think that Cleveland can hang--in a home-advantage series where the Pistons have such advantage--the Cavs don't have a prayer. Sure, Cleveland had four guys in double figures (James, Drew Gooden, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Sasha Pavlovic), and held Chauncey Billups to 13 points on 4-14 shooting. But--I will be surprised if this goes past five. The Spurs-Jazz series really has my attention now. Much different than games 1 and 2, and for the better; Stay tuned, NBA fans...this is starting to get good.
