Warriors close to pulling one of the biggest upsets in history

An MVP Candidate in Dirk Nowitzki. The coaching of one of the league's best up and comers, Avery Johnson. A team that won 67 games in the regular season. The number one seed overall in the entire league. A defense that was as stingy as they come.

A team that made it into the playoffs the last game of the season. A unit that had a thug like Stephen Jackson join the team mid-season. Another guard, Baron Davis, who had been good for his career, but not great. A storied franchise of humility.

You add it up, and you get the Dallas Mavericks whomping the Golden St. Warriors.

WRONG. What you get is an inspired, care-free attitude of a team against one that is so tight the Tin Man would be covering his ears. And when that is a huge variable, you get a 3-1 lead for the Warriors and the Mavericks forced to win three straight--with one of those games on Golden St.'s home floor.

So, is it over? Of course not. You don't gain all those accolades in the first paragraph by sheer will alone--but that's exactly what Dallas must have to overcome the feisty Warriors--class, game, and will. And for goodness sakes, RELAX!!! But, do I think that the Warriors can do it? You betcha. They have gone 6-1 against the Mavs this year, and that is simply amazing for a team that just didn't seem to have any personality for much of the year.

Stay tuned...it's going to get GOOD.
