Warriors not looking bad--they look awful

Everyone's darling--the little engine that could--the epitomy of an underdog--all of these things describe last year's Golden State Warriors. After given virtually no shot of beating the big bully Dallas Mavericks last year and doing so in dramatic fashion, several experts perked up to the idea that "perhaps the Warriors ARE for real!"

Lethargic. Lazy. No defense. Bad offseason moves. Uninspired. Those are all of the things that describe this year's Golden St. Warriors. With losing Jason Richardson to free agency, the Warriors have learned just how important he was to both sides of the court, and they are basically standing still on defense. Translation=a winless team.

What happens from here? Well, it's really anyone's guess, but I think that Don Nelson will shore up everything--eventually. For starters, the Warriors have got to start shooting the ball better from the arc (32%) as well as defending it (opponents are shooting 47%). And Baron Davis definitely needs some help--Al Harrington has provided decent support, but really--there's not been much else.
