Warriors still struggling for respect after opening round loss to Jazz

Carlos Boozer propelled the Jazz to a first game win over the Warriors 116-112 in Utah on a putback rebound--it was a thrilling finish, but the media has played it up like it was really no big deal and have already started talking down the Golden St. Warriors for their matchup issues they have against Utah.

While Baron Davis continues to nurse a sore hamstring, Deron Williams lit him up for 31 points and 8 rebounds, and many are pointing to that matchup that will determine the finality of the series. Williams, a second year guard from Illinois, has been sensational this year game in and game out, while Davis has returned to the much-hyped form of old and nearly single-handedly lead Golden St. to a huge upset over Dallas.

So, the story here--is it that much to already start closing the door on the Warriors due to Davis' injury? Sure, we've seen great players like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird play through some pretty bad things, but still--this is not what is riding on the Warriors moving on in the playoffs. This team is deep and plays care-free.

If Boozer doesn't get the putback, would the media be treating it the same today? I think not....
