Welcome to the paint Celtics

rando.jpg

I never have been a Celtics fan. I grew up between Flint and Detroit, so I have to admit I'm one of those people who thinks the Pistons get no respect. But after watching the Celtics play against the Bulls (another enemy of Pistons fans) last night I have to respect them now. I respect a player like Kevin Garnett, who, when his team is up by 20 points is on the bench yelling defense to his teammates.

I remember watching (and respecting) the Bulls the last 2 seasons. Coach Scott Skiles preached defense to his team of youngsters and they listened, usually. Now it appears as though the Bulls, coached by Jim Boylan, have given up this season. How insulting to fans that this team of millionare individuals cannot play as a team. The whole mindset of this team is evident in guard Ben Gordan. Ben would score 20 points last night versus the Celtics, but did not get one rebound. Im' a 5'9 slighty out of shape guy and I think if I tried I could catch one rebound in an NBA game.

I know players would never admit that they aren't giving their all in a game. Maybe I'm a hardliner, an old fashioned kind of guy. My blood pressure was elevated last night watching the Bulls practically welcome the Celtics into the paint. I think the Bulls need a motivational speaker in the locker room, heck, maybe on the bench.
