Williams making late claim for All-Star Team

There are a TON of talented guards out there. But are there as many that are as versatile as Deron Williams? I mean, come on, let's face it, the majority of guards out there are usually very slippery fast, or have a knack for dishing the ball, or have a sweet jumper. Williams can do whatever he wants whenever he wants. It helps when Carlos Boozer isn't hurt and the defense has to be "honest", but still--no matter what you throw at this guy--he's physical, he's capable, he's a leader, and he can hurt your team in so many ways.

As the Jazz seem to be back on track after winning their sixth in a row against the New York Knicks, Williams piled on his fifth straight double-double. It really is no coincidence to me that this is taking place as the All-Star squads are being formed, and while Williams really shouldn't have to campaign for his place, with the talented Western Conference, you've got to show yourself to be worthy of such a title.

Utah has been on fire lately, and it looks like once again they are regaining the form that took them deep into the 2007 playoffs. Keep a steady eye on their performances, but most notably, watch Williams. He's something special.
